College in Colorado - The Newest LC Partner!

There’s a dichotomy here in Colorado whereby we have one of the most highly educated work forces in the country, yet our college-going rate is below the national average. Indeed, only 1 in 5 ninth graders will earn a college degree. Many call this phenomenon ‘The Colorado Paradox.’

The 3 main reasons that students are not pursuing a post-secondary education:

1. Academic Preparation – students are completing high school without the proper coursework to continue their education.
2. Lack of Information – students and parents are not aware of the wealth of college and career opportunities available to them.
3. Perception – Many students and parents assume that they cannot afford college.

We all know that Colorado is one of the most popular states for Americans from other parts of the country to move to, which explains our smarty-pants, multi-talented workforce. But did you know that there's an organization that's trying to increase college enrollment amongst Colorado youth by providing them with everything they need to make it happen?

But by far, our favorite part of the site is all about footing the bill. The searchable scholarship database is awesome! Enter your qualifications and interests and the site will display all available scholarships that you qualify for.
